The Los Angeles Kings might have been shut out, but Edmonton Oilers fans’ voices weren’t silent following a 1-0 win in Game 4 on Sunday to take a 3-1 stranglehold in their Western Conference first-round series.

They did. They really did. Edmonton beat the Kings at their own slow-it-down and clog-it-up game, showing they don’t need to score six or seven to win games in this series.

Was it the most electrifying game to watch? Probably not.

Was it precisely the change of pace everyone was expecting to see in this series? Probably not.

Will we see it again in Game 5 at Rogers Place once the series returns to Edmonton on Wednesday? Who knows? But we will certainly be watching.

And of course, the honourable mention goes to something none of us should be proud of chuckling at. But if you look at it long enough, you just might too.
