If the clinic is full, residents may ask to be placed on a waiting list or to pre-register for a future spay and neuter clinic.

The new clinic follows on the heels of the overwhelming success of 2019 pilot programs, which were held at Ryan Heights and Percy playgrounds. The cost of a dog or cat examination and core vaccinations is $30 plus tax per pet. Microchipping will also be available for $30 plus tax.

Animals used for breeding purposes are not eligible for the clinic, however.

The East Village Animal Hospital is a high-volume spay/neuter clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive preventative medicine services for pets cared for by low-income individuals; animal rescue groups; humane societies; and municipal shelters. The hospital and its partner agencies fundraise to subsidize services provided by licensed veterinarians travelling from clinics in London and Kitchener.

Residents who pre-register are asked to verify their income upon arrival with proof of government assistance or notice of assessment.
